Writing Sample: The Winchester family had been through a lot before their arrival in Aiode Falls. All of them had been dead at least once and Mary and John were not expecting to be blessed with another child. Mary admitted often that she’d come to hope she’d be a mother again. She loved her boys madly despite the fact that they were from another life but she really did want to be a mother but she was afraid John didn’t want to be a dad again. Which led to her finding out she was pregnant being kept a secret for weeks. It was John’s birthday when she told him and while he was understandably upset that she kept it a secret but he was still happy. Nervous, but happy, made even more so nervous by the news that the new baby was a girl.
Lucy Marie Winchester was born and was immediately doted on. Blonde and blue eyed like her mother, the tiny girl was protected at every turn. Learning the ways of the world from her mother and father, Lucy knew that the world was not a kind place. Still, she grew up to be quite optimistic and adventurous. As a kid, Lucy made friends fast. Quick witted and fast talking, Lucy was as good at getting her friends out of trouble as she was getting them into it. She could spin a yarn and at the end have herself convinced that it was true. Not allowed to hunt until she was a teenager, Lucy took to working with her father in his car shop. She learned to fix a car at the same time she was learning the ins and outs of the supernatural world. A lover of all things fast and loud, Lucy took to hunting much like her brother Dean did.
High school was pretty hit and miss for Lucy. She did well, grades wise, but was too restless to make into class all the time. She was frequently found hanging out in the parking lot with the boys, much to the chagrin of the men in her family or sneaking away to drive her motorcycle. College was never even on her horizon. She knew her parents would have liked to have her go but respected her decision to hunt instead. Mary was frightened but encouraging and though he’d never admit, Lucy was pretty sure John was delighted in her decision.
